What I'm Wicked Into: Eggslut

Morning!I'm dying to tell you all the deets about one of my new favorite breakfast spots because I'm nice like that. ;)What am I wicked into? Eggslut, y'all. It's grand opening has given me new life. Lol!Yeah, you heard that right—Eggslut. Not familiar with the super in-your-face restaurant name? Please. Allow me to fill you in.After the chain's first store opening in 2011, this gourmet eatery has been a gift to locals who are obsessed with, well—eggs! Their menu boasts some of the best brioche bun egg sandwiches, flaky buttermilk biscuits, and their popular "slut," which is a "a cage-free coddled egg on top of a smooth potato purée, poached in a glass jar, topped with gray salt and chives, served with slices of baguette."I had walked by the Eggslut before at DTLA's Grand Central Market but with their line always wrapped far around the restaurant perimeter, I had never really checked it out/had the time to stay.Huge mistake. That's why when we heard they were opening up a new location in Glendale, we were stoked! For months, we had driven by the Brand Boulevard store front in hopes of seeing a line, but weeks passed and their "Opening Early 2017" sign became a total tease. It even became a conversation between friends and family. "When the heck is Eggslut opening?!"So, you can only imagine how pumped I was when earlier this week, I noticed the temporary store front covering came down."Sammmmmmmmmm! They're open!"We knew it would be part of our weekend plans. Finally an Eggslut near us. We were totally willing to wait in line this time around.Sunday morning came around and we took the nice long walk to Eggslut with empty bellies and definite bed head.20170326_102640As expected, the line was pretty long—about 30 people deep—but we. came. ready. About 25 minutes passed (not bad!) and we made it to the front of the line and ordered up: a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, and those biscuits with maple butter! We grabbed some seats overlooking the open kitchen and waited about ten minutes for our made-to-order breakfasts. All of the staff was super friendly and it definitely made the whole experience that much better with so many smiling faces around. Now, to the food...Oh my gosh, you guys, these people know what they're doing when it comes to eggs and breakfast. Our sandwiches oozed with flavor and color, and every bite was better than the last. The shiny brioche bun was delicious and the combo of all the ingredients were perfect.IMG_20170326_112149_576.jpgI can see why people wait in a line—every time—for these bad boys. They just bring an immediate smile to your face. Cheese and eggs belong together. And bacon belongs on everything.Oh, and those biscuits... totally worth it. They are so flaky and dense with flavor, and the maple butter is a must for spreading! Yummmmm. Maple for life.Did I mention we get a free "slut" the next time we go? It's all because we took a goofy gif when we walked in for their grand opening. #NoCaresAnything for a freebie!20170326_102227You guys gotta go check out Eggslut. Expect to wait a bit but don't let that stop you. In fact, let that encourage you. Lines = a good thing ahead. These sandies are totally worth the wait and are worth the $7 price tag, no doubt.Get your breakfast on and indulge a little. Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day, especially when had on the weekends. Completely satisfying.Have you ever eaten at Eggslut? What are some of your favorite breakfasts spots?Order up,Ari
