Hiiiiii!!In case you didn't know, my love for ice cream runs deep—like chocolate-sauce-caramel-swirl-dip deep. And since my week of eating vegan is complete, I can finally get some of that good stuff again. ;)My L.A. favorites include Salt & Straw and McConnell's, but now I have a brand new one to add to the growing list.About two weeks ago, I posted a pic on Instagram about a new ice cream spot I checked out with Sam called Wanderlust Creamery in Atwater Village.Screen Shot 2017-08-18 at 7.29.25 AM.pngI noticed the new storefront about a month or two ago while driving to yoga class, but had never stopped before. But, I could tell by its long lines and minimalistic look that it would be prettttttty tasty. When I looked more into their story and origin, I felt an even deeper connection.Wanderlust Creamery creates their wild, cool flavors based on past memories of childhood and travels, hence their store name. They're big on unexpected flavor combinations and interesting textures. More on the company here. One work night, I looked at Sam with my most serious eyes and was said, "We're going."So, we grabbed our keys and hit the road for the short ten minute drive there.20170816_201032After some taste testing, we both decided we loved their signature "ube" flavor, so that's what we got a full scoop of.The other flavors that caught my taste buds were: Smokey Road, Hawaiian Toast & Guava Jam, and Tonka Bean. I wanted to try just about every flavor, haha!20170816_201049_resizedWhat is "ube" ice cream?Well, this one had a malted crunch added to it, but the origin of "ube" comes from the store's American-Filipino upbringing and mixes "malted milk, real sweet purple yam, and crunchy malted milk balls."It was so, so good.20170816_200805.jpgCheck out Wanderlust Creamery's full list of flavors here. I will most definitely be going back to Wanderlust Creamery. I love what they stand for and their flavors are unreal.Have you checked out Wanderlust Creamery? Which other ice cream shops do I need to visit? You should totally make a stop here soon. Two locations:3134 Glendale Blvd.,Atwater Village, Los Angeles, CA 9003918511 Ventura Blvd.,Tarzana, Los Angeles, CA 91356Hours:Open DailySun-Thurs 12pm-11pmFri-Sat 12pm-12amI scream for ice cream,Ari
