Hey friends and Happy Monday!I hope your morning is off to a great start. :)I still can't believe it'll be November this week. Crazy!Halloween is this week and I've always loved it. Such a fun holiday. We don't have any crazy plans and I'm really going to try hard not go nuts with candy, but I'm sure I'll be indulging in a little. ;)Before we talk about this week's mantra, here's a look back at my weekend:FRIDAY I wasn't feeling too hot so I laid low for the day. It's really rare for me to feel under the weather so whenever my body's like "Wait, I need a break," I try and listen. I swear, since I moved to LA, I am way less sick throughout the year.Maybe it's because the weather is constantly warm and there are less things I'm allergic to? I remember back in New England always have sinus problems in the winter, but here, I haven't really. Odd, but I like it!Sam and I watched the World Series Friday night and had some appetizers. Not a crazy day, but it's what I needed.SATURDAY we grabbed brunch with our friend, Val, at Home Restaurant in Silverlake. We hadn't been there in awhile, so it was fun to be back. Their outdoor seating area's so cute!I got their All-American. I was in the mood for a lil bit of everything—eggs, sausage, and pancakes.20171028_112509.jpgMmmmhmmmm! So hearty. I ate most of it... haha. After that, we all hung out for a bit and had some good laughs.Sam and I had some cleaning/organizing to do around the apartment, so we split up chores and kicked some butt for a good hour to get it all done. Why is having a clean apartment/home the best feeling? Or, is that just me? :)The rest of the day was a whole lot of relaxation, blogging, online shopping and getting some fresh air.I've also been loving these lately...Pressed flowers.20171025_081535.jpgThis one is Sam's boutonnière from our wedding. I had pressed it for a good 4 months before framing it. I love it. Can't wait to do more of these. I'm currently pressing flowers from my 30th!SUNDAY I took an hour-a-half Zumba class at my gym for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyone was in pink! And, there were so many people, they moved it to the basketball court area. I had a blast dancing with some friends.23154957_10210507990075778_4068000002299758496_oI don't know what I'd do without dance.Later in the day, we hung out with my friend Maria and her fiancé, Brandon. I work with Maria and we've always talked about going out on a double date because we were sure our guys would get along great—and, of course, we were right. We had a great time with them watching sports and enjoying some Sunday drinks at The Woodman Pub in Sherman Oaks.20171029_195942.jpgWhen I think about all the great people we've met in LA, I feel really lucky. It can be hard to start over in a huge city, and over the course of our 4 years here, I really feel like we hit the friends jackpot with the awesome people we've gotten close to. We may not have tons and tons of friends, but the ones we do have, we adore.MEET ME ON THE MAT: You're Exactly Where You Need To BeHave you ever heard the saying—you're exactly where you need to be?If not, let it sink in for a moment.eQcJI1509237490.jpgI remember when I first heard this saying, years ago back at my favorite yoga studio in my hometown—Kate's Powerhouse. It really resonated with me at that time in my life, and even now... still.Where we are (meaning where we live, what we do, how we feel, what's bothering us, what's making us who we are at this very moment) is exactly where we need to be. Maybe it's not where we WANT to be, but it's the spot where we are today and that is enough. We are always reaching for more. That's not a bad thing by any means, but what if we could just be content where we were more? What if we could be more accepting of the present and less judgmental? That's what I'm working on. It's a practice. Every day I give myself the choice to be content and to just be where I'm at—even if there's still more work to be done.Let's just try—this week and beyond—to be content exactly where we are. We're not perfect. No one is.Be still,Ari
