Meet Me On The Mat: The Wrong Road

new.jpg

Good Monday morning, guys! How was your weekend? Do anything fun?We relaxed hard over here and it felt good. The holidays were such a crazy busy time that this first weekend after it called for tons of R&R.Let's see.... all we really did was watch sports, grab lunch out, clean, bake apples (for dessert... recipe coming Wednesday!) go to Bed, Bath & Beyond and meal-prep. That's really it.We were in shorts and flip-flops yesterday (don't hate me New Englanders) and I really had to pinch myself (yes, even after 4 years living here)... like, is this real life? It's just so nice not having to worry about the weather here... I feel so lucky and always try to enjoy it to the max.(Did I mention I love coffee shops?)20180107_152824.jpgI've been on a roll with my morning meditations and journaling. (Remember my New Year's resolutions?!)I've also been doing one other new thing—not using/looking at my phone 30 minutes before bed and the first 30 minutes when I wake.Honestly, it's hard but I love it. I hate that I use my phone so much, for just mindless crap like scrolling through social media and looking at photos. I need more quiet time and this has really helped. I especially love doing it in the morning so I can start my day peacefully, without any abrupt distractions like texts, missed calls, or emails.Try it if you think it's something you could benefit from too!Let's get right to this week's mantra.vSVAp1515380633How amazing and comforting is this quote?I heard it on a podcast called "Self-Helpless" and something immediately resonated with me.Whenever we end up on a different path than we expected or get somewhere that just doesn't feel "right", that's not the end for us. We have the power to turn the ship around and find comfort somewhere new, somewhere better. It's totally possible to change your life the way that you want to. It's all within you already. So if you're somewhere doing something you're not enjoying... turn around, keep your eye on the prize, and start trekking in that direction.Changes may not happen overnight, but if you're sure of what you want and how much you deserve it (P.S., you do), then it will happen. It's only a matter of time. That's it for today!ari.jpgHave an awesome week. :)Turn, if you need to,Ari
