The Sweetest Call
Back in January, I received the sweetest call from my dear friend, Maria, who lives in California. (We met when working at CBS Interactive together.)
“We were wondering if you’d like to be Emma’s godmother!?” she asked.
WHAT? Me?! I was beyond honored and a little teary eyed to hear her question.
I’m not an Aunt and this felt like that, and even a little more special.
I immediately said, “Of course! Are you kidding me?” in my naturally-excited tone. And, then, we both showered each other with thanks and kindness for about ten minutes. I kept saying “I feel so honored” and still do each day.
Becoming Emma’s godmother meant I would head out to CA later that summer for her baptism and reunite with my incredible friends (more like family) IRL. Sign me up.
Fast forward to the end of August, and I was on a solo-mom trip to CA for Emma’s intimate baptism. (Bye, fam! Lol. Jk. Obviously, I missed them a ton and there was a ton to prep because the new school year started for the kids the following week.) It was a short three-day trip, but a perfect one for sure, packed with so much fun and togetherness.
First glimpse at the Pacific Ocean in almost a year and a tasty acai bowl. (Maria knew I needed it. They are my fave.) 🙌
Much-needed beach time. 🌊
Hanging out in/around Redondo & Manhattan Beach. ☺️
Friend time at Joey in DTLA. ❤️
And, of course, Emma’s really beautiful baptism in LA!
What a lovely trip out west with amazing people, moments, memories, and beautiful weather!
I loved getting to hang out with Maria and the whole fam, and get to know sweet Emma (my pumpkin!). What an absolute doll.
I am honored as ever to be Emma’s godmama and can’t wait to shower her with love forever and always. 💕
Take care and thanks for reading,
Ari
