Meet Me On The Mat: If I Change My Internal Story, My Experience Will Change

Heyyyyyyyy. Happy Monday! The weekend flew by like woah—probably because I did a lot of fun stuff with friends and wasn't home too much to chill.Sam was gone all week/most of the weekend, so my schedule's been a bit more free-flowing. :)Here's a little recap before I talk more about this week's awesome mantra.FRIDAY was super fun after work. I grabbed dinner in K-Town with two of my co-workers around 8 at a place called Toe Bang. Lol. What a name!20171110_213237_resized.jpgI didn't realize how popular K-Town was at night. There were so many people out and about, eating on patios and chit-chatting in outdoor bar areas. Super cute. I already told Sam we'll have to go sometime.20171110_215206_resizedAfter dinner, we got together with more co-workers for private room karaoke and OMG it was so fun! Seriously, what a group. We laughed, danced, drank, sang, and just partied it up for THREE hours. It went by so fast, I couldn't believe it.[gallery ids="10688,10689,10690" type="rectangular"]I always struggle to decide what to sing at karaoke. I really do love singing so my goal is to find my three go-to songs so I'm ready next time I find myself at a karaoke bar.I think I found one keeper this weekend—"Rehab" by Amy Winehouse. It's so fun to sing!I may or may have not gone to bed at 3am... ;)SATURDAY I enjoyed a quiet breakfast at home (english muffin with peanut butter and coffee) before heading to a "Chill" yoga class in Eagle Rock. I definitely wasn't in the mood to take a fast, energetic class. The class was awesome and rejuvenating. I love Janice's approach to yoga and how caring she is to the students.Afterwards, I got my oil changed, went grocery shopping, got a couple great Christmas gifts (too early?) for family members, and just watched a ton of Property Brothers. That show's great! Before I knew it, the day had passed me by.Since Sam's flight didn't come in until 10:30pm, I met up with some friends for a late dinner in Culver City. It was nice to hang out and also be super close to LAX for Sam's pick-up.20171111_204235_resized.jpgSo good to have Sam back in town! I missed him.img_20171112_155757_634.jpgSUNDAY I met up with my close friend, Maria, for tea time at The Huntington Rose Garden Tea Room. Such a cute girl date, I must say.20171112_121123_resizedTea, finger foods, a beautiful atmosphere, Sunday morning, great conversation... what more does a girl need?20171112_114213_resized.jpgHere's what the menu looked like in case you're looking into this idea yourself! My favorite things were the scones, cucumber/cheese sandwiches, and the cheesecake bites. My tea was so yummy too—Butterscotch holiday tea.We walked around the beautiful grounds after and enjoyed the overcast weather which made for nice, comfortable stroll.20171112_131734_resized20171112_131450_resized20171112_131241_resized20171112_130404_resized20171112_113038_resized20171112_113002_resized20171112_112529_resizedI should bring my parents here—they'd enjoy it.The rest of the day was spent with Sam at home, cooking and cleaning and just catching up with each other.

MEET ME ON THE MAT: If I Change My Internal Story, My Experience Will ChangeWhen I stumbled upon this saying from Gabby Bernstein, something clicked. What we think shapes our experience.Think negative thoughts and you'll more than likely spiral into a negative experience.Think positive thoughts and you'll attract goodness into your life.Which would you rather do?Seems pretty obvious right!?When we start to encourage more positive thoughts around how we'd like our "story" to unfold, our experience will change in the same way.... brighter, better, most happiness, and fulfillment. There's no other way I'd rather live than positively and openly.Give it a try if you haven't already.TGG.jpgAnd with that, here's to a great week ahead. There's pie, going-away parties, and yoga on my horizon. :)Change your internal story,Ari
